WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service reported revenue of $69.6 billion for fiscal year 2017 (October 1, 2016 - September 30, 2017), a decrease of $1.8 billion compared to the prior year. The lower revenues were driven largely by accelerated declines in First-Class and Marketing Mail volumes.

ILLINOIS/WISCONSIN — Retail services at Post Offices throughout Illinois and Wisconsin will be closed on Saturday, November 11th in recognition of Veterans Day. There will be no mail delivery, caller service or Post Office Box service. All services will resume on Monday, November 13th. Post Offices will be open regularly scheduled hours on Friday, November 10th.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service will deliver more than 15 billion pieces of mail this holiday season. In the period between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, the Postal Service also expects to deliver 850 million packages, which is more than a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

WASHINGTON — The Semipostal Authorization Act, Pub. L. 106–253, grants the U.S. Postal Service discretionary authority to issue and sell semipostal stamps to advance such causes as it considers to be ‘‘in the national public interest and appropriate.’’ The U.S. Postal Service announced that in November it will issue the first of five semipostal stamps.
